Flutter App → Google Play Store Publishing & Release (Firebase Backend)
I have a completed Flutter camera/photo-editing app (Android, with a Firebase backend — Auth, Firestore, Storage, Hosting) that's feature-complete and needs to go through Google Play publishing. The app was built with AI-assisted ("vibe coded") development — the codebase is functional and extensively commented, but if you prefer projects with fully manual/traditional development history, this may not be the right fit. Looking for someone experienced with Play Console submissions and Firebase project administration to handle the release process end-to-end.
What's already done:
Release signing keystore configured and working
Production Firebase environment separated from dev
Privacy policy live and hosted
App builds successfully as a signed release APK/bundle
Account deletion and content-reporting features implemented in-app
What I need help with:
Firebase project administration: resolving account access, enabling Firebase Storage (may require upgrading to the Blaze billing plan), and deploying Firestore/Storage security rules to production
Setting up/configuring the Google Play Console listing (store assets, descriptions, content rating questionnaire, Data Safety form)
Confirming target API level and other Play technical requirements are met
Setting up the closed testing track (20 testers / 14 days) required for new developer accounts, if applicable
General guidance on Play policy compliance for an app with user-generated content (photo sharing feature)
Actual submission and handling any Play review rejections/feedback
Tech stack: Flutter/Dart, Android (Kotlin platform channels), Firebase (Auth/Firestore/Storage/Hosting) — accessed via REST APIs, not the official Firebase SDK plugins.
Please share relevant experience with Play Console submissions, Firebase/GCP project administration, and billing setup. Access to signing keys, project credentials, and console access will be shared privately with whoever is hired, not posted here.
Milestone 1 — Firebase Project Access & Setup
Resolve account access (confirm ownership/admin rights on the Firebase project)
Enable Firebase Storage (including Blaze billing plan upgrade if required)
Deploy Firestore + Storage security rules to production
Verify: app can read/write to production Firestore/Storage without permission errors
Blocking milestone — nothing else can be verified end-to-end until this is done.
Milestone 2 — Play Console Account & Store Listing
Set up/verify Google Play Console developer account
Produce store listing assets: app icon, feature graphic, phone screenshots, short + full description
Complete the Content Rating (IARC) questionnaire
Complete the Data Safety form
Deliverable: a fully filled-out (not yet submitted) Play Console listing
Milestone 3 — Technical & Policy Compliance
Confirm target API level meets Play's current minimum
Confirm/declare app permissions (camera, media, location) correctly in Play Console
Verify account-deletion and content-reporting flows work against production (built already, needs live testing once Milestone 1 is done)
Review UGC/content-sharing policy compliance for the Discover feature
Milestone 4 — Closed Testing Track (only if required for this developer account)
Set up closed testing track with 20+ testers
Run for the required 14 consecutive days
Note: this is largely a waiting period, not active work — may warrant a smaller fee than the other milestones.
Milestone 5 — Submission & Launch
Submit app bundle for production review
Respond to and resolve any Play review rejections/feedback
Confirm app goes live on the Play Store
