Most WordPress developers can install a theme, activate a pile of plugins, and call the site finished.

That is not development.

Production Connections is hiring a **full-time WordPress Developer** who can build, customize, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain serious websites without needing constant supervision.

This is a long-term position. Not a temporary contract. Not a one-page build. Not something you squeeze between five other clients.

You will work across multiple active projects involving custom WordPress development, responsive builds, performance optimization, technical integrations, ongoing maintenance, and the correction of websites that were built badly the first time.

## What You Will Be Responsible For

* Developing, rebuilding, and maintaining WordPress websites
* Converting Figma designs into accurate, responsive WordPress builds
* Customizing WordPress themes and plugins based on project requirements
* Developing custom WordPress functionality when an existing plugin is not the correct solution
* Building and modifying websites using Elementor and other established page builders
* Writing clean HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress-specific code
* Integrating APIs, forms, CRM platforms, payment gateways, tracking systems, and third-party services
* Diagnosing and correcting WordPress errors, conflicts, broken layouts, failed updates, and performance issues
* Optimizing websites for speed, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, usability, and conversion
* Ensuring every build works properly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
* Managing plugin, theme, WordPress core, security, and backup requirements
* Working with designers, SEO specialists, content teams, and other developers
* Using Git or GitHub when required
* Documenting completed work clearly enough that another competent developer can understand it
* Maintaining clean, scalable code instead of creating a future repair bill

## Required Experience

* **2–3 years of professional WordPress development experience**
* Strong working knowledge of WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
* Experience developing or modifying custom WordPress themes
* Experience customizing plugins and extending WordPress functionality
* Strong experience with Elementor or comparable page builders
* Working knowledge of MySQL and WordPress database structures
* Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations
* Understanding of responsive development and cross-browser compatibility
* Experience improving website speed and performance
* Ability to diagnose technical problems independently
* Basic Git or GitHub knowledge
* Strong attention to detail
* Clear written communication
* Reliable internet access and dependable availability
* Ability to work full-time during U.S. Eastern Time business hours

## Schedule Requirement
