I’m looking to digitise our factory’s roster process with a single app that runs smoothly on iOS, Android and any modern browser. The core goal is straightforward: handle all aspects of employee scheduling so supervisors can set shifts in minutes and workers always know when and where they’re needed.
The solution must cover three pillars of scheduling:
• Shift planning – managers create, copy or edit shifts, assign staff, and see coverage conflicts in real-time.
• Time tracking – simple clock-in/out from phone or web, with automated calculation of hours worked.
• Leave management – staff submit holiday or sick requests, supervisors approve or decline, and the roster updates instantly.
A clean, role-based dashboard for administrators and an intuitive view for floor staff are both essential. Push and email notifications should keep everyone in the loop when a shift changes or leave is approved. Data has to sync in real time across devices so nobody is ever looking at an outdated schedule.
I’ll provide our current shift templates and any brand assets; you’ll handle UI/UX, back-end, database, and deployment to the App Store, Google Play, and a secure web host. Source code, documentation, and a short hand-off session round out the deliverables.
If you’ve built cross-platform scheduling or workforce apps before, tell me how you’d tackle both the mobile clients and the web interface, what tech stack you prefer, and the timeline you expect to hit each milestone.
