Build Online Political News Magazine

I’m launching an online-only news magazine that focuses exclusively on politics, so there’s no print component to consider—everything will live on the web and must feel first-class on desktop, tablet, and mobile.

The politics section is the entire publication for now, and I want it to open with a clean, authoritative layout, fast load times, and an editorial workflow my writers can manage without touching code. Two core features must ship on day one:

• Subscription service: readers need to create an account, choose a monthly or annual plan, pay through Stripe (or a comparable gateway), and automatically gain or lose access to pay-walled articles based on their status. An admin dashboard for subscriber management and simple revenue reporting is essential.

• Social media sharing: every article must carry share buttons for Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp, complete with properly configured Open Graph and Twitter Card metadata so the headline, excerpt, and hero image render perfectly when shared.

Commenting isn’t required at launch, but the codebase should leave room to bolt it on later without a major refactor.

I’m open to WordPress, Ghost, Laravel, or another secure CMS or framework—choose what you’re confident will keep the stack lean, speedy, and easy for editors. I’ll supply the logo, colour palette, and initial copy; you’ll handle theme design, responsive templates, plugin selection or custom code, and deployment.

Deliverables
1. Fully deployed site on my hosting (or a smooth migration if you build in a staging environment).
2. Administrator walkthrough—either a short Loom video or concise PDF—showing how to publish articles, manage subscribers, and view basic analytics.
