I need a cross-platform mobile app (iOS and Android) that lets farm staff remotely start, stop and schedule irrigation motors and their associated valves. Each motor can be shared with up to four named users, and a simple role system—admin versus standard operator—must govern who can edit settings or only view and trigger commands. Corresponding Server also to developed.
Core workflow
• The app sends control commands to our server, which then pushes them to the motor controller via its onboard SIM.
• In the opposite direction, the app must poll or listen for status updates and instantly refresh the dashboard (run time, voltage, fault flags, etc.).
• Motors are uniquely identified through a triple key: Motor ID + SIM ID/UUID + authorised mobile number. All requests and responses have to respect that matching logic.
Technical expectations
The interface should feel modern and dynamic, with clean animations and charts rather than plain text tables. I’m open to the tech stack, but Firebase (Auth, Cloud Messaging, Realtime/Firestore) is acceptable wherever it simplifies authentication, notifications or data sync.
Deliverables
1. Source-code repository with clear commit history
2. Signed builds for TestFlight and Google Play internal testing
3. Lightweight admin panel or in-app admin mode to assign the four users per motor
4. API documentation and postman collection covering all endpoints used
5. Deployment and hand-over guide
Acceptance criteria
• Command latency under three seconds on a 4G connection
• Real-time status updates reflected within two seconds of server push
• Role-based access tested for at least an admin and two operators
• All identifiers (Motor ID, SIM ID/UUID, Mobile) correctly validated and logged
I’ll supply the existing server APIs and a detailed flow once we’ve signed an NDA. If you have relevant experience in IoT control apps or agriculture tech, I’d love to see a quick note on a similar project when you bid.
