I already run an Android-based attendance app that authenticates a user only when the handset is physically connected to our office Wi-Fi (Network A) and a live-video face scan succeeds. I now want to leave that phone on-site, still logged in to Network A, and operate it from another location. The challenge is getting the face-verification stage to accept my image while I am miles away.
My preferred direction is to build a custom remote-access protocol rather than relying on off-the-shelf remote-desktop tools or a simple VPN. The idea is to tunnel every required touch, swipe, and most importantly a live video stream coming from the remote camera I am holding. That video must appear to the attendance application exactly as if the local phone’s own front camera were producing it, in real time and with minimal latency, so the existing live-video facial recognition module works unchanged.
What I need from you is a proof-of-concept that demonstrates the full round-trip:
• Phone stays on Network A, app launches, and waits for a face.
• I connect over the custom protocol, control the device, and when the face prompt appears my remote camera feed is injected.
• The app recognises me and grants access without timing out or flagging spoofing.
You may pick any suitable stack—WebRTC, RTSP piping, virtual camera drivers, low-level ADB hooks, even kernel-level modules—provided it does not require rooting the production handset. Clear documentation, build instructions, and a short demo video are expected so I can reproduce the setup on additional devices.
