Website: https://shorturl.at/TZAs6
Platform: WordPress, CarDealer Theme, WPBakery, Slider Revolution
Hosting: Krystal, LiteSpeed Server
Project Overview
We are looking for an experienced WordPress performance specialist to investigate and improve our website's loading speed, particularly on mobile devices.
Google Search Console reports poor Core Web Vitals, which may be affecting our SEO performance and customer enquiries.
We have already carried out extensive testing and need someone who can identify and resolve the underlying problems rather than simply install optimisation plugins.
Main Issues
1. Slow Server Response
Homepage takes approximately 2 to 2.5 seconds to generate.
Other pages generate in around 0.8 to 1.4 seconds.
Database queries account for only around 0.35 seconds.
We need to identify which PHP functions or theme components are causing the delays.
2. Poor Mobile Performance
Google reports mobile LCP of 4.4 seconds from real visitor data.
Mobile Lighthouse tests have recorded LCP between 8 and 14 seconds.
Desktop performance is considerably better.
Google identifies render blocking resources and image loading priority issues.
3. Theme and Caching Conflicts
LiteSpeed Cache causes incorrect mobile menus, logo sizing and header backgrounds, so it is currently disabled.
Removing the unused Google Maps API breaks the CarDealer vehicle search price slider due to script dependencies.
Any optimisation must preserve the site's existing functionality.
Work Required
We need someone to:
Identify performance bottlenecks through proper PHP profiling.
Investigate slow homepage processing and server response times.
Resolve caching and theme compatibility issues.
Improve mobile Core Web Vitals and image loading.
Protect existing SEO, vehicle listings, search filters and enquiry forms.
Provide before and after performance measurements.
Important: Approval Before Changes
We require a clear, step by step outline of findings and proposed changes before any modifications are made.
Please explain what you recommend changing, why, the expected improvement and any potential risks.
No changes to the live website without prior approval. Approved changes should be tested on a staging site first, with backups and a rollback plan.
