I’m preparing my application for Chartered Engineer status with the IET and I’d like hands-on guidance from someone who is already registered. What I need most is ongoing mentorship rather than a one-off review. I want to walk through the technical aspects of my career history with you, identify where the strongest evidence sits against the UK-SPEC competencies, and shape that material into clear, confident statements.

My immediate priority is the Experience section: together we’ll dissect the projects I’ve led, the calculations, simulations and design decisions I owned, and then decide which examples best demonstrate depth of technical expertise. Once we agree the stories, I’ll draft the text and send it back for your detailed feedback—line-by-line comments on clarity, relevance and impact. A short video or voice call after each revision would be ideal so I can ask follow-up questions in real time.

You should already be CEng through the IET (other institutions won’t satisfy the evidence requirement) and familiar with the latest IET guidance notes and Career Manager portal. If you’ve acted as an assessor or PRA before, even better.

Deliverables:
• Two to three mentoring calls (30–45 min each) focusing on technical evidence.
• Mark-up of my Experience section draft with actionable comments.
• A brief final check that the section is fully aligned to the Competence & Commitment statements before I submit.

When we’re finished, I want to feel confident that my technical narrative is robust and assessor-ready. If this fits your background, let’s get started.
