# Wix Website Redesign & Refinement for a Student Philosophy Journal

**Project Description**

I'm the founder of **Aletheia**, a Canadian student-led philosophy journal dedicated to making philosophical writing, critical thinking, and intellectual discussion more accessible to middle and high school students.

I currently have an existing website built using **Wix**, and I'm looking for an experienced Wix designer/developer to significantly improve its appearance, structure, and overall user experience.

**This is primarily a redesign and refinement project, NOT a complete website development project from scratch.**

The current website already has a basic structure and several functional pages. However, its design is relatively simple, and I would like to transform it into a polished, professional digital journal that feels comparable to established academic and literary publications.

## What I'm Looking For

**1. Professional Visual Redesign**
- Modern, elegant, and distinctive editorial aesthetic.
- Refined typography, spacing, layouts, and colour palette.
- A professional homepage with a strong visual identity.
- Consistent design across all existing pages.
- Responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

**2. Improvements to Existing Wix Pages**
- Redesign and reorganize the homepage.
- Improve the About, Submission, and Contact sections.
- Develop a professional journal/publication section.
- Improve navigation and the overall browsing experience.
- Remove unnecessary elements and improve the site's consistency.

**3. Journal & Publication Features**
- An organized section for publishing student philosophical essays.
- The ability to categorize essays by topic, submission track, or issue.
- Clean, readable article pages.
- A straightforward essay submission form with file uploads.
- An easy way for administrators to upload and publish new essays using Wix's existing tools.

**4. Wix-Specific Requirements**
- Work directly within my existing Wix website.
- Preserve useful existing content and functionality.
- Use Wix's built-in features and CMS where practical.
- Avoid unnecessary custom coding or expensive third-party integrations.
- Ensure that I can independently manage and update the website after completion.
- Provide a brief explanation of how to publish articles and manage submissions.

## Design Inspiration

I'm interested in a similarly polished, publication-focused aesthetic, with strong typography, intuitive navigation, and an academic atmosphere.

However, **I do not want a direct copy**. Aletheia should have its own distinctive branding and visual identity.

## Budget & Expectations

Since the website already exists on Wix, I'm hoping to prioritize improving the design and existing functionality rather than paying for a completely new development project.

I can share access to the existing website and further design references after discussing the project.
