I am looking for an experienced freelance paralegal or caseworker for a short assignment involving independent witness interviewing and statement preparation.
A number of witnesses have already been identified and are readily available and willing to provide information. There is no tracing, surveillance or persuasion required.
The work involves interviewing witnesses individually, accurately recording their first-hand accounts, preparing clear written statements for them to check and sign, and collating any relevant supporting information.
The underlying matter concerns a complaint involving alleged conduct by a serving police officer. The freelancer is not being asked to investigate the officer, prove allegations or take sides. The role is simply to gather and record the available witness evidence independently and accurately.
Previous experience interviewing witnesses and preparing statements is important. Experience in litigation, regulatory, complaints or similar casework would be useful.
The work is based in Cardiff and is expected to require approximately 1–3 days initially.
Please provide your relevant experience, availability to attend Cardiff and proposed day/hourly rate.
LOCATION REQUIREMENT: This work requires face-to-face witness interviews in Cardiff, Wales. Please only bid if you are UK-based and able to attend Cardiff in person.
