VirtueMart Cart Modernization

I want to breathe new life into my existing Joomla + VirtueMart store. Functionally the shop is solid, but the layout feels dated, so the main goal is a cleaner, more professional interface that instantly looks current on desktop, tablet, and mobile.

The mandate is straightforward:
• Redesign the VirtueMart template to deliver a modern, clean, professional look.
• Keep the structure upgrade-safe by working through template overrides and custom CSS—no core hacks.
• Ensure every page (home, category, product, cart, and checkout) is responsive and loads quickly.
• Preserve all existing payment gateways and shipping rules; nothing should break once the refreshed theme is applied.

I am focusing on “better layout” and “modernize the design,” but I’m open to subtle UX tweaks that boost navigation or performance if you spot easy wins while you’re inside the code.

Deliverables
1. New or modified template files and style sheets ready for install.
2. Any image assets or icons you introduce, licensed for commercial use.
3. A short read-me describing where the files live, how to toggle key settings, and any module positions you add.
4. Proof of cross-browser / device testing (screens or brief report).
