Tourism Booking Platform Feature Expansion

Our current tourism booking platform works, but it feels dated and limited. I need it taken to the next level by adding several key features while simultaneously streamlining the overall experience. The priority is feature expansion, yet every new element must load quickly and slot naturally into an intuitive flow so travellers never feel lost or delayed.

Core experience upgrades
• Navigation must feel effortless on desktop and mobile. Menus, search, and filtering should guide users to the right tour in as few clicks as possible.
• Page-to-page and API response times need to stay under two seconds to preserve momentum during browsing and checkout.
• The booking process itself should be a clean, distraction-free funnel that auto-fills data where possible and confirms reservations in real time.

New feature set (deliverables)
1. Travel package customization – allow visitors to mix-and-match activities, dates, and add-ons, with live pricing and availability.
2. User reviews and ratings – verified post-trip feedback displayed with sortable scores, photo uploads, and moderation tools.
3. Interactive maps – dynamic mapping (e.g. Google Maps API or Mapbox) that plots itineraries, pick-up points, and nearby attractions.

Acceptance criteria
• All new modules must integrate with the existing database and payment gateway without data loss.
• UI/UX designs delivered in Figma (or similar) before development starts.
• Codebase should follow modern best practices (ES6+, React or Vue preferred on the front end; Node.js, Laravel, or similar on the back end) and include inline documentation.
• Lighthouse performance score of 90+ on key pages after deployment.
• Staging site available for iterative testing; final hand-off includes full source code, database migrations, and a brief handover manual.
