Sydney Illustrator For Humorous Tales

I have eight short, rhyming escapades starring a middle-aged English lager-lover who muddles through life while events simply wash over him. Each episode runs as a set of stanzas, and I want every stanza or couplet matched with a single black-and-white line drawing—think the loose energy of Quentin Blake, though I’m happy for you to bring a style that feels equally light, witty, and character-driven.

The panels will first be posted online as standalone images, then collected in small books containing multiple adventures. Humour, everyday banality, and a dash of quiet irony sit at the heart of the character, so the drawings need to sell those beats instantly.

Location matters: I’d love to collaborate with an Australian illustrator, ideally Sydney-based, so we can meet, brainstorm, and refine pacing together.

Rights and credits are open for discussion—I’m comfortable either crediting us as “written by / illustrated by” partners or arranging a full rights transfer if that suits you better.
