Shopify Consent Mode & GTM Setup

I want to bring my Shopify tracking in line with Google’s Consent Mode while making sure every purchase is sent cleanly to both Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads. At the moment there is no Google Tag Manager container on the store, so the first task is to deploy GTM correctly (using Shopify’s preferred method so the data layer stays intact).

Once GTM is live, I need Consent Mode v2 configured so tags adapt automatically to the visitor’s cookie choice. After that, set up the GA4 configuration tag, link it to my existing property, and create an enhanced-ecommerce purchase event that matches the exact parameters Google Ads expects. The Google Ads conversion tag must fire only after a successful checkout and pass the value and currency that Shopify provides.

To be sure everything is wired up, please:

• Verify that purchase hits appear in real-time in GA4 and register inside Google Ads within the usual attribution window.
• Use the Tag Assistant and GA4 DebugView to show the consent states and event payloads.
