Senior Performance Video Editor — DIY Art Club / SMT Group
Remote
European working hours
€2,500–€4,000 gross per month
DIY Art Club / SMT Group is hiring a Senior Performance Video Editor to create and continuously improve high-performing paid-social video across its portfolio of international eCommerce brands.
SMT Group is an international arts and crafts eCommerce group founded in 2016. It operates through local brands in individual markets, allowing the team to tailor its products, creative and customer experience by region.
Today, the group has:

More than five million customers across 20+ countries

Over 150,000 new customers each month

Six-figure profitable daily Meta spend

More than 100 new product designs launched every week

SMT’s ambition is to become the world’s leading eCommerce group for creative hobby products, making creativity accessible and encouraging people to spend more time creating rather than scrolling.
You’ll be joining SMT Group, supporting across the below brands;
Schilder op Nummers - Netherlands

DIY Malen nach Zahlen - Germany

DIY Art Club - US, UK, Australia, Canada and France

The role
This is a hands-on performance creative role for an experienced editor who understands that the job does not finish when an ad is exported.
You’ll work closely with SMT’s Creative Strategists, taking relatively light-touch briefs and scripts and turning them into polished, direct-response video ads. You’ll also review creative-performance data, identify why ads are winning or losing and independently develop the next iterations.
The strongest person will combine exceptional editing standards with commercial judgement, speed, autonomy and a strong understanding of how paid-social creative performs.
What you’ll do

Edit direct-response video for Meta and other paid-social channels

Turn strategist briefs, scripts, raw footage, UGC and existing assets into compelling ads

Build strong hooks, pacing, narrative, captions, graphics, sound design and calls to action

Understand the customer insight and commercial objective behind each brief

Use AI video and production tools where they improve speed, quality or creative possibilities

Review ad-performance data including spend, ROAS, CPA, CTR, hook rate and retention

Identify the elements driving or limiting performance

Independently create new iterations based on evidence, rather than waiting for detailed instructions

Separate weak concepts from weak executions and recommend the next test

Produce variations efficiently without reducing every idea to superficial hook swaps

Partner closely with Creative Strategists and media buyers

Maintain consistently high creative standards across multiple brands and markets

Organise files, versions and feedback clearly across a high-output environment

What we’re looking for

Strong experience editing direct-response or performance video for DTC/eCommerce brands

A portfolio showing high-quality paid-social video, not only organic or brand content

Evidence that you have analysed ad results and used the findings to improve creative

Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or comparable tools

Practical experience with AI video tools such as Runway, Sora, Veo, Kling, ElevenLabs or similar

An intuitive understanding of hooks, pacing, visual storytelling and conversion-focused editing

Ability to work from lean briefs and take ownership without significant hand-holding

Strong communication and collaboration with strategists and performance marketers

Reliable availability across European working hours

High personal standards, pace and accountability

Useful, but not essential

Experience across international or multi-language markets

Editing UGC, VSL, founder-led, product-demonstration and cinematic AI creative

Experience within hobby, wellness, beauty, consumer or other high-volume DTC categories

Motion design, sound design or broader production capability

What SMT offers

A genuinely high-volume creative environment with meaningful performance data

The opportunity to work alongside experienced Creative Strategists

Autonomy to shape creative, not simply execute instructions

International brands operating at significant paid-social scale

A flat, fast-moving and highly commercial culture

Remote working with European-hours collaboration

Package and working arrangements
Base: €2,500–€4,000 gross per month, full-time.
Contract: SMT Group can accommodate either an employee or contractor arrangement.
Location: Fully remote.
Working style: High trust and output-led. SMT does not clock-watch; you own your schedule while remaining reliable to the wider team.
Time off: Flexible and coordinated around the team and key commercial launch periods.
Team meetings: Quarterly in Utrecht, the Netherlands, with travel arranged and paid for by SMT Group.
Start date: As soon as possible.
Culture
SMT Group operates around four clear principles:

Ownership over hierarchy: You are trusted to run your domain, regardless of title.

Data over opinions: Ideas are tested, measured and improved.

Speed through clarity: Learning from execution is more valuable than prolonged debate.

High standards and accountability: This is a fast-paced environment with a significant amount still to be built.
