I own the vacant lot that sits directly beside my home and runs all the way from one street to the next. Because I am the sole property owner on that strip, I’d like to convert it into my own private driveway—but I first need a complete permit package and the accompanying designer plans that will satisfy the local zoning office.

At minimum, I must have a clear driveway layout and structural design that shows dimensions, turning radii, grade, and any required setbacks. I’m still weighing which type of plans will be mandatory—architectural, landscape, structural, or a combination—so I’ll lean on your expertise to decide what the municipality expects. Materials are also open for discussion; I haven’t committed to asphalt, concrete, or pavers yet and welcome your recommendations once the site conditions and budget are factored in.

Your scope would include:
• Producing permit-ready drawings in AutoCAD or similar, stamped if licensing is required in my jurisdiction.
• Preparing the zoning permit application itself, including any site maps or cover sheets the city requests.
• Advising on optional enhancements—landscaping buffers, drainage, or low-level driveway lighting—should they simplify approval or improve long-term use.
• Rapid revisions if the city returns comments.

I can provide photos of the propery. Ideally, you are familiar with my state’s residential driveway codes and can turn around the first draft quickly so I can file in the next few weeks.
