Companiyo | Remote | 10 hours/week to start
Companiyo is building a new kind of companionship service: real people having genuine one-to-one conversations with people who could use some company.
We're looking for a hands-on Part-Time Marketing & Growth Lead to help us build awareness, establish trust, attract our first customers, and discover which marketing channels can help Companiyo grow.
This is an early-stage role. You'll have the opportunity to help shape how a new brand is introduced to the market, so we're looking for someone who enjoys testing ideas, learning quickly, and building from the ground up.
What you'll do
Content & Social Media
• Manage Instagram and Facebook
• Develop a weekly content plan
• Create high-quality social content
• Develop short-form video/Reels
• Write captions and social copy
• Create Stories
• Respond to comments and basic messages
• Help build an authentic and trusted online community
Marketing & Customer Growth
• Help identify and understand our most promising customer audiences
• Research relevant communities, organizations and potential partners
• Develop simple outreach and partnership campaigns
• Support email marketing
• Test referral and word-of-mouth opportunities
• Research competitors and adjacent services
• Suggest and run low-cost customer acquisition experiments
• Help turn what we learn from customers into better marketing
Measurement & Learning
• Track website visits, inquiries and bookings
• Identify where customers are coming from
• Monitor content and campaign performance
• Track what is and isn't generating real interest
• Help us understand the customer journey from first interaction → website visit → inquiry → booking → repeat customer
• Maintain a simple weekly marketing dashboard showing spend, traffic, inquiries, bookings, experiments, and key learnings.
What we're looking for
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in marketing, social media or customer acquisition
• Strong Instagram and Facebook experience
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Comfortable with Canva and basic content creation
• Comfortable creating short-form video
• Understanding of content strategy and audience growth
• Basic analytics and reporting skills
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently
• Startup, small-business or entrepreneurial experience is a strong plus
We're especially interested in someone who has helped a new or small brand go from little/no audience to real customers.
Results matter more to us than a particular number of years of experience.
Important
We're not looking for someone whose main goal is to increase follower counts.
Our goal is to build a trusted brand and acquire real paying customers.
You should be comfortable thinking about:
Content → Interest → Website Visit → Inquiry → Booking → Repeat Customer
Companiyo is currently in an early validation stage, so we value creativity, experimentation, resourcefulness and practical results over complicated marketing plans.
We're looking for someone who can tell us not only what we should post, but why we're posting it, who we're trying to reach, and how we'll know whether it worked.
Time & Compensation
10 hours/week to start
CAD $14–$16/hour, depending on experience and demonstrated ability.
The role is expected to begin in mid-December 2026, after the website has been completed and tested
We're initially looking at a 3-month engagement, with the possibility of continuing and increasing hours as Companiyo grows.
To Apply
Please send:
1. A short introduction
2. 2–3 examples of brands/accounts you've managed
3. Links to work you're proud of
4. One example of how you helped a business generate customers or leads
5. Your hourly rate
6. Your availability
7. A brief answer to this question:
If you were responsible for helping Companiyo get its first 50–100 paying customers with a limited marketing budget, what would you test first — and why?
Please don't send a generic marketing proposal. We want to understand how you think.
