Role purpose
Build the mental model every later course relies on: how computers execute work, how operating systems manage it, how data is represented, and how machines communicate. The successful trainer will teach students to diagnose faults by evidence and layer instead of guessing.
Topics you will lead
1. How a computer executes work
2. Operating systems and processes
3. The filesystem and command line
4. Numbers, text, and encoding
5. How networks move data
6. The internet protocol stack
7. HTTP and the web
8. Client, server, and system structure
9. Virtualisation and containers
10. Reading an unfamiliar system
11. Power, connectivity, and local constraints
12. Structured diagnosis of a broken machine
Subject-specific profile
- Strong working knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, Linux command-line tools, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, virtual machines, and containers.
- Practical experience diagnosing endpoint, operating-system, or connectivity faults.
- Ability to trace a user action through hardware, operating system, network, and server layers.
- Preferred: CompTIA A+/Network+, Cisco, Linux, systems-administration, or equivalent evidence of capability.
