YouTube Travel Video Editor – Long-Form Storytelling
We are starting a new YouTube travel and entertainment channel and are looking for a talented long-form video editor for a potential long-term collaboration.
Our first project will be an 8-day trip through India. We will be filming a large amount of raw footage throughout the trip, potentially 20–30+ hours.
We need an editor who can take all of that raw footage, find the best moments, and turn it into a highly engaging 45–60 minute YouTube episode.
This is NOT a traditional travel vlog.
Our content combines adventure, humor, local culture, street food, conversations with local people, educational/informative moments and unexpected situations. We want viewers to feel like they are experiencing the country together with us while also learning something along the way.
The most important skill we are looking for is STORYTELLING.
We don’t just need someone who can make nice cuts. We need an editor who understands:
• YouTube audience retention and pacing
• How to create a strong opening/hook
• How to turn many hours of footage into one clear story
• When to use fast-paced editing and when to let a moment breathe
• Humor and comedic timing
• Music and sound design
• Subtitles and on-screen text when appropriate
• Maps, locations, prices and informative graphics
• Interviews and conversations with locals
• Colour correction and clean audio
• Building curiosity so viewers want to keep watching
The final style should feel raw, adventurous, funny and authentic, while still being professionally edited and cinematic where appropriate.
We will speak mainly Dutch/Moroccan-Dutch slang in the videos, so being comfortable working with subtitles/translations or provided transcripts is important.
First project: India
Raw footage: approximately 20–30+ hours
Final video: approximately 45–60 minutes
Resolution: 4K YouTube-ready
If the first collaboration works well, we want to continue travelling to different countries and are looking for an editor who can grow with the channel long term.
IMPORTANT:
Please send examples of LONG-FORM YouTube videos you have personally edited, especially travel, documentary, entertainment or storytelling content.
We are not looking for someone who only edits Shorts/Reels.
Tell us briefly how you would approach turning 20–30 hours of travel footage into an engaging 45–60 minute YouTube story.
