Migrate CRM Application and complete Mobile App

I am looking for an experienced Convex + React/Next.js full-stack developer to migrate an existing production software application currently built/hosted through Hercules.app into an independent development and hosting environment that I fully control.

The goal is to remove our dependency on Hercules while preserving the existing application's functionality, users, database, integrations, and overall design.

The final system needs to be fully managed through GitHub, allowing our team to make updates, deploy new versions, and maintain the software without being locked into Hercules.

What You Will Be Responsible For
1. Audit the Existing Hercules Application
Review the existing Hercules application and architecture.
Identify the frontend framework, backend architecture, Convex configuration, APIs, integrations, authentication, database structure, file storage, and Hercules-specific dependencies.
Determine the best architecture for moving the application to independent infrastructure.
Provide a migration plan before major changes are made.
2. Migrate the Application
Export and migrate the existing source code.
Migrate the Convex backend/functions.
Migrate the database and production data.
Migrate uploaded files/images where applicable.
Preserve existing users and application functionality.
Reconfigure environment variables and secrets.
Remove or replace Hercules-specific dependencies.
Maintain the current UI/UX unless changes are specifically requested.
3. Set Up GitHub-Based Development

The final project must be stored in a GitHub repository owned by me/my company.

I want a professional development workflow such as:

Feature Branch → Pull Request → Testing → Merge → Production Deployment

The developer should configure GitHub properly for ongoing development and deployment.

4. Set Up Independent Hosting

I want the application deployed to hosting infrastructure that I control.

I am open to recommendations for the hosting architecture, including options such as:

Vercel
Cloudflare
AWS
DigitalOcean
Other suitable cloud infrastructure

For Convex, I am open to either:

Convex Cloud, or
Self-hosted Convex

The developer should recommend the best option based on scalability, reliability, security, cost, and maintenance.

5. CI/CD Deployment

Set up automated deployment through GitHub.

For example:

GitHub → Build/Test → Deploy to Staging → Production

I want to be able to update the software in the future without needing Hercules.

The system should support:

Production deployments
Staging/testing environment
Environment variables/secrets
Build verification
Deployment logs
Rollback capability
Git-based version control
6. Testing

Before the migration is considered complete, the developer must thoroughly test the application, including:

User registration/login
Existing user accounts
Database functionality
Admin functionality
User dashboards
Forms
APIs
Payments
Notifications
File/image uploads
Mobile/PWA functionality
Third-party integrations
Convex functions
Authentication
Any existing automated processes

The goal is for the migrated application to function the same as the current production application.

Important Ownership Requirement

I must retain ownership and administrative access to the entire system.

The following must be under my/company's accounts:

Hosting account
Convex account/project
Domain/DNS
Cloud infrastructure
Database
API accounts
Third-party integrations
Deployment credentials

I do not want the application dependent on a developer's personal accounts.

The developer may have access for development purposes, but the company must remain the owner of the infrastructure and source code.
