What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced Medical Chronology Specialist who is highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable reviewing large volumes of medical documentation. You understand how medical records and billing records come together in a personal injury case, and you know how to identify the key information attorneys need when preparing a demand.
The ideal candidate has experience creating, reviewing, or validating medical chronologies, preferably for a personal injury law firm or medical chronology company. You should be able to read and understand medical records, identify important treatments and events, spot missing information, and ensure the chronology accurately reflects the client's medical history.
If you have experience working as the medical chronology point of contact for an injury law firm or have worked specifically for a medical chronology company, that's a strong plus.
Who You Are
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in medical chronology, medical record review, or a closely related role, preferably supporting personal injury law firms.
Strong ability to read, understand, and summarize medical records and billing records.
Familiarity with personal injury cases and the role medical documentation plays in preparing settlement demands.
Highly detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to identify missing information, inconsistencies, and gaps in treatment.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, medications, and provider information.
Able to review lengthy medical documentation while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Strong written communication and documentation skills.
Excellent organizational and administrative abilities; able to manage multiple cases and keep medical information properly organized.
Comfortable using medical chronology software, case management systems, spreadsheets, and document management tools.
Experience working with AI-assisted medical chronology technology is a plus.
Familiarity with medical records retrieval or ROI processes is a plus, but this is not primarily a records retrieval position.
Must be comfortable handling confidential medical information and PHI in accordance with HIPAA and company privacy policies.
What You'll Do:
As a Medical Chronology Specialist, you will:
Review medical records and billing records related to personal injury cases.
Create, review, and validate medical chronologies that accurately summarize a client's medical treatment and history.
Use specialized medical chronology technology to review AI-generated summaries and ensure the information is accurate and complete.
Identify and document important dates, providers, diagnoses, injuries, treatments, procedures, medications, imaging, and other relevant medical events.
Review billing records and ensure relevant charges and medical expenses are properly reflected.
Identify missing records, treatment gaps, inconsistencies, or incomplete information that may need to be addressed before a demand is prepared.
Organize medical information within the firm's case management or document management system.
Ensure the medical chronology contains the information needed by the legal team when preparing demand packages and settlement claims.
Communicate with case managers, attorneys, and other members of the legal team regarding missing or unclear medical information.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation across multiple cases.
Review and quality-check completed chronologies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
