Job Title: Develop Hotel Captive Portal, RADIUS, MikroTik & PMS-Based Wi-Fi Management Software
Project Overview
Infomac IT Solutions, an IT and managed Wi-Fi service provider in India, is looking for an experienced freelancer or small development team to build our own branded, commercial hotel Wi-Fi management platform. The system should offer capabilities comparable to hospitality Wi-Fi platforms such as Nomadix, 24online and ANTlabs. We need working software—not just a website, mockup or login page.
The platform must be secure, scalable and modular. Submit a technical/commercial proposal with milestones.
CORE FEATURES
1. Captive Portal and Guest Login
- Hotel-specific branding, logo, background, terms/privacy notice and landing page; responsive on mobile, tablet and laptop.
- OTP login through an SMS gateway.
- Coupon/voucher login with validity controls.
- Username/password login.
- Hotel room number and guest surname login.
- PMS-based guest authentication, subject to supported interface access.
- Complimentary access and configurable login methods per property.
- Session/idle timeout, logout, renewal, device limits, bandwidth limits and manual disconnection.
- Walled-garden access where supported; login and failure logs.
2. Hotel PMS Integration
Our first priority is IDS/IDS Next PMS, subject to official API/interface documentation, vendor authorization and any required licensing.
- Validate room/surname/check-in status and associate sessions with guest/room references.
- Sync check-in, checkout, room changes/extensions where supported; disconnect Wi-Fi at checkout.
- Integration status, logs, retries, timeout/error alerts, secure credentials and authorized manual fallback.
- Modular connectors for future PMS products. Identify vendor approvals, middleware, interface limitations and extra fees; do not assume every PMS supports every function.
3. RADIUS Server (AAA)
Integrate FreeRADIUS or another suitable, proven RADIUS solution.
- AAA, RADIUS client/NAS management and secure shared secrets.
- User/group policies, bandwidth profiles, timeouts and simultaneous-session limits.
- Accounting Start/Interim-Update/Stop, usage tracking where available, active sessions and error history.
- Disconnect/CoA where supported; checkout/admin-triggered disconnection.
- Health monitoring and redundancy options. Show users, session duration, available device details, policies, usage and failures.
4. MikroTik Gateway Integration
MikroTik is a priority for the first release. Support must be validated against specified RouterOS versions and hardware.
- HotSpot, RADIUS, user policies, bandwidth/time limits and session disconnection.
- MAC/device restrictions, firewall and guest VLAN separation where supported.
- Gateway status, uptime, resources and WAN monitoring.
- Multi-WAN load balancing, automatic failover, health checks, configurable failback and outage alerts.
- Secure configuration management and backup/restore.
Features must work on the actual supported hardware, not just appear in the dashboard. Include a demonstration/test plan.
5. MAC Address, Website and Bandwidth Controls
- View available MAC/IP details; block/unblock devices, disconnect sessions and keep logs/allowlists.
- Website/domain block/allowlists and walled-garden rules, where technically possible.
- Basic/Standard/Premium/VIP profiles; speed limits, quotas and concurrent-device limits where supported.
- Different guest/staff/conference/VIP policies.
Explain randomized MAC, HTTPS and encrypted-DNS limitations. Enforce policies through network components, not just the dashboard.
6. Managed Wi-Fi and OEM Support
We may deploy MikroTik, Aruba, Ruckus, Cisco, TP-Link Omada, D-Link, Syrotech and other network brands.
- Central gateway/AP inventory; online/offline status, uptime and client counts where supported.
- SSID/VLAN/policy management, guest/internal separation, bandwidth controls and device monitoring where supported.
- Alerts, diagnostics, backups and change history.
Use an adapter-based design and provide an OEM compatibility matrix covering supported features, APIs/controllers, firmware limits and licence costs. Do not claim unsupported functions.
7. Central Dashboard and Reports
Dashboard: hotel groups/properties, gateway/AP status, connected users and sessions, authentication statistics, bandwidth/data usage where available, hotel/date/room reports, RADIUS accounting, PMS errors, WAN/failover events, device blocks, alerts and audit logs. Include filters by hotel/date/room/user/device and CSV/Excel export plus PDF where needed. Use real collected data, not hardcoded values.
8. Multi-Hotel / Multi-Tenant Management
Support a central Infomac Super Admin managing multiple hotel groups and properties, with individual hotel administrators.
- Role-based access; separate branding, PMS settings, gateways, users and policies per property.
- Central overview, property reports/alerts and strict tenant data isolation.
- Add hotels without installing separate applications.
Example hierarchy: Infomac Super Admin > Hotel Group > Property > Gateway/AP > SSID/Guest Network > Guest Sessions.
9. Security, Architecture and Deployment
Use HTTPS/TLS, secure APIs/secrets, role-based access, MFA for privileged users, input validation, rate limiting, secure sessions, audit logs, backups/recovery, database protection and guest-data retention/deletion controls. Follow applicable Indian data protection requirements.
Propose architecture for dashboard, portal, backend/API, database, RADIUS, PMS/OEM connectors, monitoring and reports. Specify stack, hosting, capacity, availability, backup plan and any local component needed during internet outages.
10. Development Phases
Phase 1: Requirements, architecture/UI design, IDS PMS feasibility and MikroTik/RADIUS validation.
Phase 2: Multi-hotel dashboard, captive portal, login methods, RADIUS AAA/accounting, MikroTik integration and basic reports.
Phase 3: IDS/IDS Next connector, room authentication, checkout synchronization and session termination, subject to interface access.
Phase 4: Load balancing/failover, MAC and website controls, advanced bandwidth policies, OEM adapters, monitoring and reports.
Phase 5: Functional/security/load testing, pilot at one hotel, failover testing, bug fixes, acceptance testing, production deployment and training.
Suggest a practical alternative phase plan if needed, but list scope and acceptance criteria for each milestone.
DELIVERABLES
Before development: SRS, architecture/data-flow diagrams, database/UI designs, milestone plan, PMS feasibility, OEM compatibility matrix and acceptance criteria.
At completion: working software, full custom source/repository, database schema/migrations, API and deployment/troubleshooting documentation, test reports, deployment assistance/training, warranty/support terms, and disclosure of third-party components, licences and recurring cloud/SMS/PMS fees.
SOURCE CODE AND OWNERSHIP
The contract must transfer agreed custom source code and deliverables to Infomac under agreed payment terms. Provide repository access, credentials and documentation. No undisclosed developer-controlled production dependency is acceptable. Disclose third-party/open-source components, licences, recurring costs and proprietary dependencies.
QUESTIONS FOR DEVELOPERS
Please answer:
