Project Title: Local Architect for Budget-Friendly Cooling Facade, Terracotta Jali, Terrace & Partitions (Hyderabad/Secunderabad)
Project Description:
I am looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and independent architect to design a low-budget, low-maintenance, yet highly aesthetic passive-cooling facade and specific interior elements for my standalone three-story, West-facing duplex home in Hyderabad.
Current Site Status: This is a 3-year-old home that is currently in the under-construction phase for its facade, terrace, and specific interior upgrades. Summer temperatures here reach 45°C–50°C, so heat reduction without obstructing views is the primary goal.
CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Local Availability: You MUST be locally available in the Hyderabad/Secunderabad area for regular in-person site visits. You will need to understand the existing 3-year-old structure and physically supervise the execution to ensure it is flawless.
Iterative Mindset: I need a patient, flexible professional who is happy to revise and change designs multiple times until they perfectly match my vision. I am looking for a dedicated, client-focused freelancer with a passion for design, not a highly commercial or rigid corporate firm.
Key Project Scope & Requirements:
Low-Maintenance Cooling Facade: A blend of modern and traditional details that elevates the house's beauty while requiring minimal upkeep. Use cost-effective materials (e.g., WPC louvers, fiber-cement boards on MS framing) to manage the West-facing sun.
Terrace Shading & Makeover: Complete design and execution plan for terrace shading to manage heat absorption and create a usable, aesthetically pleasing outdoor space.
Window & Balcony Shading (with Safety): Creative shading and security solutions for the balconies and West-facing windows. Terracotta jalis, deep shadow box frames, or foldable slatted awnings can be utilized to block direct sun, ensure safety, and keep views open.
Parking Area Jalis: Custom linear vertical terracotta jali arrays (approx. 128x111 inches) for the North and South parking areas. These need to sit securely atop existing 1 ft 3-inch base walls using 2x2 inch blocks with "invisible" structural fabrication, designed to create beautiful floor light-play patterns.
Interior Partitions: Design aesthetic, functional partitions to thoughtfully separate the living and kitchen areas within the duplex layout.
Execution Supervision: Work directly with local fabricators to ensure the structural MS framing for the heavy jalis, louvers, and terrace shading is mounted flawlessly onto the existing structure.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
Expertise in residential architecture, passive cooling strategies, and low-maintenance exteriors.
Strong portfolio showcasing modern-traditional designs, terracotta/jali patterns, and smart interior layouts.
High enthusiasm for the work and a willingness to adapt designs multiple times based on client feedback.
Practical engineering knowledge of budget-friendly structural mounting (especially for securing heavy terracotta and steel frames to an existing 3-year-old structure).
To Bid, Please Provide:
Confirmation that you are based in or near Hyderabad/Secunderabad and are available for regular site visits.
Confirmation that you are open to multiple design revisions.
Relevant work samples featuring residential facades, terracotta jalis, terrace makeovers, and interior partitions.
A brief note on your approach to keeping execution and material costs budget-friendly without sacrificing aesthetics.
