Houston Artist Documentary Videography

I’m launching the first episode of an intimate, long-form YouTube documentary series that profiles Houston-based artists and creatives. The look I’m after is cinematic storytelling rather than standard corporate or event coverage, so I’m looking for a local videographer who already works in that visual language and can bring a distinctive eye to composition, lighting, and camera movement.

For every shoot you will handle on-location interviews and create atmospheric, observational B-roll that lets viewers feel present in the studio or workspace. In practice that means: tight close-ups that catch the artist’s expressions and hands at work, wide frames that situate them in their creative environment, and carefully lit detail shots of the finished or in-progress pieces. Clean, well-monitored audio is essential because these conversations will carry the narrative.

Because image quality has to stand up to color grading and episodic delivery, you’ll need to work with a high-quality cinema camera or a professional DSLR/mirrorless setup, paired with your own professional audio kit. Please be prepared to light small interview spaces when natural light isn’t enough.
