Business Development Partner — Fintech & ERP Software (15–25% Commission)
WHAT WE DO
We build the back-office systems businesses run their money on — lending and
deposit platforms, accounting and ERP, POS and inventory, payroll, and the
third-party integrations that hold them together.
Not another web design shop. Our current work is the core banking platform for
an NBFC running across 150+ branches and 70,000+ customers: double-entry
accounting, loans and deposits, payroll, GST and TDS compliance, KYC and payment
gateway integrations.
Stack: PHP/Laravel, Node.js, Angular, MySQL, MongoDB, AWS.
Portfolio: maheshmalpani.github.io
WHO WE WANT YOU TO TARGET
This is the part that makes the difference. You are not selling "web
development" — you are selling to businesses with a specific, expensive problem:
• NBFCs, credit co-operatives, microfinance and chit-fund companies
• Accounting and CA firms whose clients need custom billing or ERP
• Retail chains, restaurants and distributors needing POS, inventory or billing
• Logistics and courier companies needing operations software
• Any business stuck on an old custom PHP system nobody maintains any more
• Agencies who need a reliable backend partner for overflow work
The pitch that works: "They already have software. It doesn't reconcile, it
can't be audited, and the person who built it is gone." That conversation
converts far better than "do you need a website".
COMMISSION
• 20% of the project value for the first project from a client you introduce
• 10% of every further project from that same client for 12 months
• 10% of monthly maintenance retainers you help sign, for 12 months
Paid within 7 days of us receiving each client payment. If a client pays in
milestones, you are paid on every milestone, not only at the end.
Typical project sizes: $800 – $8,000, plus maintenance retainers. On a
$3,000 project your first commission is $600.
No cap on earnings. No exclusivity — work with whoever else you like.
WHAT WE GIVE YOU
• Portfolio, case studies and reference architecture to send to prospects
• A technical person on discovery calls, so you never have to fake answers
• Written proposals and estimates prepared for you, usually within 48 hours
• Honest scoping — we will tell you when a lead is not a fit, so you do not
burn your credibility with your own contacts
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Prior IT sales, client acquisition or software project sourcing experience
• Comfortable talking to business owners and finance people, not just CTOs
• Your own network or a working outbound method — we are not hiring you to
bid on public job boards, that is what we already do ourselves
• Long-term intent. The second and third project from a client is where this
gets worth your time, for both of us
HOW TO APPLY
Please do not send a generic proposal — those will not be read.
Answer these three, briefly:
1. Which of the target segments above would you go after first, and why that one?
2. How would you reach the first ten prospects in it? Be specific about method.
3. Tell us about one software project you sourced or closed — what it was, roughly
what it was worth, and what your role was.
If you have a working method, we will make it worth your time for years.
