Farm Connect: Agricultural Job Marketplace App

I’m launching a mobile-first job marketplace connecting farms with workers for agricultural work — everything from a weekend relief milking shift to full-time stockman roles. Think a clean, purpose-built alternative to scrolling unstructured Facebook groups: farms post real jobs with real pay, workers apply and build a track record, farms choose who to hire.
I have a full working HTML/React prototype covering the core UX and flows, which I’ll share with shortlisted candidates — this removes most of the guesswork on layout and behaviour. I’m looking for someone to take that spec and build a proper, production-ready MVP.
Target users: UK farmers/estate managers (posting jobs) and agricultural workers ranging from casual/weekend labourers to full-time stockmen and contractors.
CORE FEATURES
Employer (farm) side:
• Post a job: role title, job type/category, location, pay (£/hr, £/day, or salary), dates/duration, description, urgent flag
• View applicants per job with profile, rating, and job history
• Accept/contact applicants
• Mark jobs filled/closed and leave a rating for the worker afterwards
• Dashboard of posted jobs (open, filled, past)
• Subscription management (see below)
Worker side:
• Browse/search jobs with the following filters: job type (relief milking, fencing, tractor/machinery work, livestock, general labour, seasonal/harvest, contracting, driving, part-time, full-time), location/distance radius, wage/pay range, skill/experience level
• Keyword search bar (role, farm name, village/area)
• Sort by: most recent, urgent, highest pay, fewest applicants
• Save/bookmark jobs
• Apply to jobs with one tap
• Build a profile: photo, bio, skills/tags, experience, relevant tickets/certifications (e.g. HGV licence, telehandler, spraying certificate)
• CV/experience section — uploadable CV or structured work history
• Track applications (pending/accepted/declined) in one place
• Push notifications for new jobs matching saved skills/location
Trust & verification (important — this is a core differentiator, not an add-on):
• Identity verification flow for workers (ID upload/check via a third-party verification API — open to your recommendation, e.g. Stripe Identity, Onfido, or similar)
• Right-to-work confirmation
• Verified badge displayed on profile once checks pass
• Ratings and completed-job count visible on every profile
• Basic reporting/flagging mechanism for bad actors
Monetisation (needs to be built in from the start, not bolted on later):
• Three-tier subscription for farms: Free (1 post/month), £4.99/month (5 posts/month), £9.99/month (unlimited) — plus an annual option
• Stripe or equivalent for subscription billing and management
• Optional paid “featured/urgent” listing boost (one-off fee to pin a post + push notification to nearby matching workers)
• Workers use the app entirely free — no payment features needed on their side beyond receiving verification (subscriptions/payment logic is farm-side only)
PLATFORM REQUIREMENTS
• Native or high-quality compiled apps for iOS and Android (App Store + Google Play)
• Fully responsive on iPad/tablet
• Usable via desktop/web browser too — farmers managing multiple job posts should be able to do this comfortably from a computer, not just a phone
• Clean, fast, minimal-friction UX — the target users are busy and not necessarily tech-savvy, so simplicity matters more than visual flourish
• Push notification support (critical feature — time-sensitive job matching depends on it)
• Location services / geolocation for distance-based filtering
DESIGN
I have a distinct visual identity already worked out (rugged/workwear aesthetic — charcoal, high-vis amber accent, bold condensed typography, not a generic templated SaaS look) and a working prototype demonstrating it. Happy to share full design reference and brand assets. Looking for someone who can execute a design system faithfully, not redesign from scratch.
TECH APPROACH
Open to recommendations, but leaning toward a no-code/low-code platform (e.g. Adalo or FlutterFlow) for a faster, more cost-effective MVP build, provided it can genuinely deliver native App Store/Play Store apps, push notifications, geolocation filtering, and Stripe subscription billing. If you believe custom code is a better fit for this scope and budget, I’m open to hearing why.
DELIVERABLES
• Working app published to Apple App Store and Google Play (developer accounts will be provided/set up)
• Responsive web version accessible via browser
• Admin panel/dashboard for me to manage users, remove bad actors, and see basic usage stats
• Documentation on how to make basic future edits/content changes myself
• A short handover call/walkthrough
TIMELINE
Looking to have a working MVP ready to pilot with a small group of real farms and workers within 8–12 weeks of kickoff.
BUDGET
Please quote based on the scope above. Open to fixed-price or milestone-based payment structure. Include your estimate broken down by feature area if possible, and flag anything in this brief that seems out of scope for the budget so we can discuss priorities.
