Short-term Consultant – GNSS Geodetic Control Surveyor (Independent), East Africa, 6 days on site
We are looking for an experienced independent geodetic/GNSS control surveyor for a short assignment on a road corridor project in East Africa (rural and remote, with no national benchmark network along the route).

Scope of work:
Design, observe (static GNSS), process and adjust a primary control network of about 75 permanent concrete beacons/benchmarks in inter-visible pairs about every 3 km. Define a self-contained, defensible datum (IGS/CORS ties, PPP/RTX checks, UTM zone and scale factors, EGM2008 heights) and document its relationship to the national grid.

Check and quality-assure the secondary control and topographic survey done by our own operator.
Supervise and guide our field team on site.
Prepare the Geometric Survey Report and review the CAD/DTM deliverables (DTM, 0.5 m contours, 1:1000 plans, long sections, 20 m cross-sections) in Civil 3D or equivalent.

We provide: all GNSS equipment, beacon materials, vehicles, accommodation, visa support where needed and travel. You bring your expertise and personal items.

Remuneration: Fixed fee set by the company, shared at interview.

Requirements:
7+ years in geodetic control for roads or other linear infrastructure
Proven static GNSS network adjustment (TBC, Leica Infinity or Magnet) and PPP services
Civil 3D
Strong English report writing
Experience in remote areas preferred
Valid passport (6+ months)
Available to start within 1 week
Duration: 6 days on site, plus remote reporting days.

To apply: Send us a direct message with your CV and two control-survey references. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and complete a short paid technical test.
