Excel Payment Tracking Workbook

The task is to build a clean, easy-to-maintain Excel workbook that records every rupee coming in or going out of my business while giving me a clear picture of each customer’s outstanding balance. The file must let me log daily income and expenses, tag every entry to a customer or cost centre, and instantly show payment status with running totals.

Key expectations
• One-click data entry: drop-downs for customer names, categories, and payment types so nobody types the same thing twice.
• Automatic calculations: formulas that update totals, ageing of receivables, and profit-versus-expense summaries without manual refresh.
• Real-time reporting: a dashboard (charts or pivot tables) that highlights top debtors, today’s cash-flow position, and month-to-date performance.
• Clear audit trail: a sheet that locks past periods while still allowing new entries, so historic figures stay intact.
• Print-ready output: formatted statement that I can hand directly to a client showing invoices raised, payments received, and amount still due.

The workbook has to be compatible with current desktop Excel (Office 365) and stay fully functional without add-ins or macros blocked by standard security settings. A brief walkthrough video or PDF guide explaining structure, formulas, and how to add new customers will complete the hand-off.
