Title: Market Researcher Needed in India (Field Interviews & Secondary Desk Research)
Project Description:
We are looking for a reliable and communicative Market Researcher based in India to assist with both primary (field) and secondary (desk) research.
To start, we have a trial batch of primary research aimed at understanding the payment behaviors and comfort levels of local merchants. If the trial goes well and the data gathered is highly detailed and genuine, this will turn into a long-term, weekly engagement covering both field interviews and secondary desk research.
Initial Trial Task:
Conduct 12 on-the-ground interviews with local shop owners/merchants (6 merchants using PhonePe and 6 merchants using Paytm).
Ask a short, predefined list of 10 questions.
Gather genuine, clear, and detailed answers from the merchants. If a merchant is uncomfortable sharing certain information, that is fine, but all recorded data must be strictly authentic.
Provide clear audio recordings of the interviews and photo proof of the merchant locations.
Future Scope (Upon successful trial):
Ongoing interviews with other merchant segments (e.g., Airtel Payment Bank, BHIM).
Dedicated budget allocations to compensate merchants directly for their time in future rounds.
Assisting our team with ongoing secondary/desk research tasks.
Requirements:
Must be located in India with the ability to physically visit local merchants.
Strong communication skills in local languages to build rapport with shop owners, and good English for reporting back to our team.
Experience in primary field research, surveys, or customer interviews.
Experience or strong interest in secondary desk research.
Ability to strictly follow the provided questionnaire and deliver high-quality, detailed insights.
