I need robust, well-documented firmware that lets an ESP8266 on the Arduino platform both send and receive infrared commands for multiple air-conditioner remotes. Serial command-line interaction over USB or Telnet is all that’s required; no web or mobile interface is necessary.

Core tasks
• Build or adapt an Arduino-compatible sketch that scans incoming IR frames, decodes them, and logs the raw timing as well as the decoded protocol and data.
• Implement a complementary routine that allows me to replay captured frames or craft new ones from the command line, then transmit them through an IR LED with correct carrier frequency and timing precision.
• Structure the code so adding or tweaking protocols is straightforward—I will be experimenting with a variety of AC brands.

Environment & tools
Arduino IDE or PlatformIO, Espressif SDKs, and the popular IRremote(ESP8266) libraries are all acceptable as long as any third-party code is cited.

Deliverables
1. Complete, compile-ready sketch (.ino or PlatformIO project) with clear pin assignments for IR LED and receiver diode.
2. Simple serial command set (e.g., CAPTURE, PLAY , SAVE , LOAD ) described in a README.
3. Instructions for wiring, library installation, and testing on a NodeMCU or similar ESP8266 board.
4. A brief video or screenshot proof showing a capture-and-replay cycle controlling an AC unit.

I’ll flash and bench-test the code on my hardware; payment releases once the same capture-replay flow works here and the command set matches the README.
