About the Role
Homeaglow is looking for a Director of Finance who thinks like an operator and acts like a strategist. This is not a role for someone who lives in variance reports. We want someone who uses financial data as a lens to understand our business, identify leverage points, and help leadership make better decisions faster.
You will be a key voice in the room when we are deciding where to invest, what to cut, how to price, and how to grow. You will own the financial narrative of the company — not just the numbers behind it.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Financial Leadership

Partner directly with the leadership team to translate financial data into strategic recommendations — pricing, unit economics, capital allocation, and growth bets.

Build and maintain financial models that drive decision-making, not just report history. Your models should answer “what should we do” as much as “what happened.”

Identify inflection points in the business before they show up in the income statement — through cohort analysis, leading indicators, and operational metrics.

Evaluate new initiatives, partnerships, and investments with rigorous but fast financial analysis. Be the person who pressure-tests ideas without killing momentum.

Develop a deep understanding of our unit economics (CAC, LTV, RNR, contribution margin) and communicate them clearly to inform resource allocation and prioritization.

Finance & Accounting Oversight

Lead and develop the Finance and Accounting teams, setting high standards for accuracy, timeliness, and analytical rigor.

Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process — but orient your team toward forward-looking insight, not just backward-looking reconciliation.

Ensure financial reporting is clean, consistent, and audit-ready. Establish controls and processes that scale with the business.

Manage cash flow, runway, and treasury with a clear-eyed view of the company’s financial position at all times.

Oversee tax strategy and compliance, working with external advisors as needed.

Planning & Forecasting

Drive the annual planning process — not as an exercise in spreadsheet management, but as a tool for aligning the company on priorities and trade-offs.

Maintain a rolling forecast that reflects real business dynamics, not just last year plus a growth rate.

Build scenario models that help leadership understand the financial implications of different strategic paths.

What We’re Looking For

7+ years of progressive finance experience, with meaningful time in FP&A, investment banking, management consulting, or a high-growth startup.

Demonstrated experience influencing business strategy with financial analysis — not just building models, but changing decisions.

Strong command of unit economics, cohort modeling, and the financial drivers of marketplace or subscription businesses.

Exceptional communicator who can translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.

Prior experience managing a finance or accounting team.

High comfort with ambiguity. You don’t need perfect data to form a useful point of view.

Low ego, high standards. You’d rather be right than look smart.

Who Thrives Here
This role is ideal for a finance leader who is energized by the question “what does this mean for the business?” — not “how do we explain the variance?” You should be as comfortable in a strategic planning meeting as you are reviewing a reconciliation. You move fast, communicate crisply, and treat financial analysis as a means to an end: building a better business.
This role is not for someone looking to run a tightly scoped accounting function or whose primary output is monthly close packages. We have operational finance needs and you will own them — but that is the floor, not the ceiling.
Perks and Benefits

Health insurance fully covered by the company.

Parental leave.

Flexible / unlimited PTO policy.

Cleaning membership perk – Free Homeaglow membership with complimentary cleanings. Enjoy up to 2x cleanings a month, capped at $200 USD per cleaning.

Homeaglow is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. Compensation ranges are available upon request. Final offers are based on experience, skills, and location in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.
