I need detailed engineering drawings and calculations for a load-bearing concrete slab that will support a heavy metal baler. The design must comply with relevant Australian Standards for reinforced concrete and specify mesh/rebar throughout, while maintaining a uniform 30 mm cover around the entire machine base.
Key requirements you will address:
Machine weighs around 28 tonne in total - but also has a large door around 9 tonne that moves up and down while cycling. (See video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rovHKsK7Nxg
• Slab must remain perfectly flat and level under load, yet include drainage veins to direct liquid to designated exit point
• A 100 mm high × 100 mm wide concrete retaining/bund wall is to be integrated around the perimeter of the base. It has two jobs: restrain any horizontal machine movement and capture liquids until they reach the drain. (approx 30mm clearance around machine base perimeter.
• I already have some dimensions for the slab footprint and baler anchoring points but need your help confirming final thickness, reinforcement pattern, and overall layout to suit the imposed loads.
I only need design for slab for base of machine, extra smaller slabs will be added with expainsion foam against main base slab to support hydraulic cylinder stands.
The set up for the concrete slab should be as simple as possible and include detailed connection drawings/instruction.
Customer has lots of SL92 Concrete mesh and 32mm bar in stock if this can be utilised.
Your deliverable will include:
1. Fully dimensioned GA and reinforcement plans (PDF + DWG).
2. Reinforcement and concrete schedules referencing Australian Standard grades and bar marks.
3. Drainage detail showing trench drain profile, fall percentages, and discharge point.
4. Brief calculation note verifying load capacity, wall stability, concrete cover, and drainage gradient.
Please build in practical construction notes so the drawings can go straight to a local concreter without further clarification.
