Children's Book Illustrator for STEM Education

I am looking for an experienced children’s book illustrator/designer to help complete and professionally finish an educational children’s book called Tully the Turbine & Friends – What Are Wind Turbines?

The book is aimed at children aged 7–10 and teaches children how wind turbines and renewable energy work through storytelling, characters and age-appropriate STEM learning.

The main character, Tully, is a wind turbine with an established appearance and personality. I already have the story, characters, page concepts, reference artwork and detailed instructions. I am not looking for someone to redesign the concept. I need an illustrator who can follow the existing character designs and specifications very closely and create consistent, professional illustrations throughout the whole book.

The project will involve approximately 17–19 illustrated A4 pages plus front and back covers.

Important requirements include:

* Consistent character appearance from page to page.
* Accurate modern wind turbines with exactly three blades.
* Correct turbine components and realistic wind-farm details.
* Tully must remain recognisable and consistent throughout.
* Four recurring child characters must stay visually consistent.
* Three wind-turbine technicians are based on real people/reference photographs and must remain recognisable in illustrated form.
* Correct PPE and safety equipment must be shown on wind-farm/site scenes.
* Illustrations should be colourful, warm, engaging and suitable for children aged 7–10, without looking too babyish.
* Educational diagrams/scenes must still be technically sensible and easy for children to understand.
* The book explains wind, blades, the turbine interior, generator, electricity, substations, the electricity grid and how renewable electricity reaches homes and schools.
* Page layout and text need to look professional and easy to read.
* Final artwork needs to be suitable for a high-quality digital PDF/book and future professional printing.

I will provide the successful freelancer with the existing book pages, character references, photographs, detailed design rules and page-by-page instructions.

Consistency and attention to detail are extremely important. Please do not apply if you are unable to follow established character and technical specifications closely.

I would also like reasonable revisions included so that character details and turbine details can be corrected where necessary.

Please provide examples of previous children’s book illustration, particularly educational or STEM books if available.

I will require the final high-resolution files, editable/source files where applicable, and full commercial usage rights for the completed commissioned artwork.
