I'm looking for an experienced mobile game developer (or small studio) to build a free-to-play golf game that recreates a real 18-hole UK golf course, for iOS and Android.
Two things must be as near to perfect as possible — these are the project:
1. Gameplay exactly like Golf Clash. Download it before you bid: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/golf-clash-golfing-simulator/id1089225191 (Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playdemic.golf.android). The pull-back-and-release shot ring, the timing-needle accuracy, per-shot wind, spin control, bounce and roll, and putting on sloped greens. If your game doesn't feel like Golf Clash in the hand, it fails. Game mechanics only — all art, branding and UI will be our own.
2. The holes must look exactly like the real course. Members of this club will play their own course and must recognise every hole instantly. You won't be designing golf holes — you'll be rebuilding real ones from the data pack we supply: survey-grade LIDAR terrain (1m grid — real slopes and green contours), verified routing (tees, greens, fairways, doglegs, bunkers — yardage-checked against the official card), per-hole plan images, official yardages for all four tee sets, tree positions/heights, and professional drone flyover footage of every hole (also used as in-game hole intros). A photoreal ground pass (Gaussian splat / drone orthophoto) is planned and you should be comfortable integrating it.
Scope (what you're bidding on): the complete game — all 18 holes, plus the full feature set below. Your bid should cover the whole project. We will work milestone-first: Milestone 1 is one hole built to final quality — course-accurate visuals, Golf Clash-grade shot feel, and the core loop around it (accounts, coins, basic club/ball upgrades). Once that hole is signed off as the quality bar, the remaining 17 holes are production runs of the same pipeline using the data packs we supply. We already have a working web prototype with real-terrain ball physics that you'll receive as a reference.
Critical architecture requirement: the app must be built from day one as a multi-course platform. Courses are pure content packs (terrain + routing + card data + media) loaded without code changes, one shared player community, course picker, per-course leaderboards. Course #2 onboarding with zero code changes is the acceptance test.
Feature set (full 12-page spec provided on award/NDA):
• Single player stroke play (earn coins, personal bests, leaderboards)
• 1v1 Match Play (hole-by-hole, "2 UP / ALL SQUARE / DORMIE", match ends 5&4 style, sudden death if all square)
• Twice-weekly medal competitions with live leaderboards, strict one-entry-per-player, top-3 prizes
• F2P economy: coin packs (IAP), blueprint-gated club upgrades, consumable premium balls, timed reward crates with visible contents — strictly NO loot boxes / paid randomness
• A time-earned tee progression that can never be purchased
• Per-club revenue-share reporting: every transaction tagged with the buyer's home club (snapshot at purchase), monthly per-club statements
• Hole sponsorship slots (local business logos on tee screens)
Tech: Unity (or equivalent — tell me why), iOS + Android, server-authoritative economy and competitions, backend for accounts/leaderboards/IAP/live events.
In your bid, please include:
1. Links to mobile games you've shipped (physics/sports games a big plus)
2. In one paragraph: how you'd match Golf Clash's shot feel
3. Your price and timeline for the FULL 18-hole project, broken into milestones (Milestone 1 = the first hole perfected + core loop; then holes 2–18, economy, competitions, multiplayer)
4. Your proposed stack
The course identity, data pack and full specification are released under NDA to shortlisted bidders. This is a long-term relationship — after the 18 holes comes the multi-course platform and additional real courses, each one a repeat of the same pipeline.
