I receive a steady flow of customer emails in Gmail every day and need an automated way to pull just the senders’ names into Excel. The task is straightforward:
• Source: all data comes from my Gmail inbox.
• Data required: only the names, no addresses or phone numbers.
• Excel layout: one single column, with each new name appended beneath the previous entries.
An ideal solution would run daily—either on a fixed schedule or triggered when new mail arrives—collect the fresh names, and update the spreadsheet with zero manual effort from me. Google Apps Script, Python with the Gmail API, Zapier, or a comparable toolset are all fine as long as the result is reliable and easy for me to maintain.
Deliverables:
1. Working script or automated workflow that connects to my Gmail, extracts the sender names, and writes them into the designated Excel file (XLSX).
2. Clear instructions so I can adjust the schedule or reconnect the script later if my credentials change.
3. Quick hand-off session (video or written) confirming everything runs end-to-end on my machine or cloud environment.
If you’ve set up similar Gmail-to-Excel automations before, I’d love to see a brief example or screenshot when you submit.
