I trade options through my personal Angel One account and need a small utility that watches every open position and immediately squares it off the moment a 10 % loss is touched. No fancy dashboards or notifications—just a reliable, low-latency safety net that works every single time.
Here is the full scope:
• Connect to Angel One’s SmartAPI (or any official API you recommend) and pull my live option positions continuously.
• Calculate the mark-to-market P/L in real time and trigger a square-off order exactly at –10 %.
• The logic must work for all option types I might hold simultaneously, closing only the contract that breaches the threshold while leaving the rest untouched.
• Clean, well-commented code plus a short README so I can tweak the stop-loss percentage later if I wish.
• A quick set-up guide to run the script on either my local Windows machine or a lightweight cloud instance.
Language is flexible—use whatever will hit the Angel One API most efficiently (Python is often the go-to, but I’m open). No email or SMS alerts are required; once the order is executed, the job is done.
Acceptance criteria: when I paper-trade with dummy positions, the script must close the trade within a tick of crossing –10 % and show the executed order ID in the console.
If this sounds straightforward to you and you have prior experience with Angel One or similar brokerage APIs, let’s get started.
