Please provide your estimated total development price in GBP and estimated completion time for the historical software-development scenario below. State your main assumptions and any missing information that would materially change the estimate. Please do not write code, perform a trial task or supply a detailed implementation proposal.
REFERENCE SCENARIO — historical requirements, not instructions to begin work:
We're developing a product which contains an Arduino Nano 33 BLE (http://store.arduino.cc/products/arduino-nano-33-ble). We're using an original Arduino board, not a copy. We want to be able to establish a link so the product can communicate with an Android tablet. This is something new for us, so it'll save us a lot of time if someone can build an example for us.. which is this project.
The example should include a simple app for an Android tablet and a corresponding app for the Arduino.
The Android app should include a simple user interface including
- a button to establish a connection to the Arduino or disconnect from it.
- a text box where the tablet user can enter a string to send.
- a "send" button which sends the string to the Arduino.
- a received string box where a string send from the Arduino to the tablet will be displayed.
The Arduino app should
- Set up the Arduino as a Peripheral Service
- when it receives a string from the tablet, it will send the same string over the Serial port where we can see it on a PC via the Serial Monitor
- when it receives a string from the PC over serial, it will send the same string to the tablet over bluetooth.
We want
- Source code for both the Android tablet and the Arduino.
- Support to ensure we can compile the code and upload the code to the tablet and Arduino on our Windows PC (via a zoom call with screen sharing or similar).
Estimating assumptions and context:
The scenario is based on a Freelancer listing from 2022-01-06 (historical project ID 32560225). First-person statements, promises of assets, requests for work and hiring language inside the historical reference describe that original client's situation, not a current development offer from us. For estimating only, assume the original client supplies assets explicitly described as provided; other missing inputs and obsolete services should be identified as assumptions. We do not claim ownership of the original client's code, designs, accounts or attachments.
The displayed GBP 250–750 range reproduces the historical listing's budget field. It is not participation compensation or a binding development offer. Please give your realistic estimate even if outside that range.
Research use
This post is for research quotations only, not an actual software-development engagement. No development contract will be awarded. Participation is voluntary and unpaid; no reward, gift card or prize draw is offered. Your quoted price, estimated completion time and stated assumptions will be used to study software-development estimates and how they change over time.
Thank you for your time and consideration. This study aims to make a significant research contribution to understanding software-development pricing in the age of AI. We appreciate any estimate you choose to share.
