I have completed the draft of a non-fiction book on ancient history and am ready for a fresh, professional pair of eyes to strengthen the manuscript at the content level. The text already reads cleanly, yet I know it can flow better, make its argument more convincingly, and present facts in a crisper, more engaging way.
Your primary task is content editing—going beyond surface-level proofreading to reshape paragraphs where needed, tighten structure, flag weak transitions, and suggest additions or deletions that will improve readability and narrative drive. Because the material deals with an antiquity timeframe, I also value any historical-accuracy observations you may spot while you work, though formal fact-checking is not required.
Deliverables
• A Word document with tracked changes and margin comments covering all content edits
• A concise editor’s report (1–2 pages) summarising the major issues addressed and remaining points I should consider before final proofreading
Acceptance Criteria
• All edits and comments clearly visible in Track Changes
• Suggestions focused on clarity, logical flow, redundancies, and consistency of tone
• Return of both the marked-up file and the clean, accepted-changes version by the mutually agreed deadline
If you are experienced in shaping non-fiction—particularly history titles—and enjoy polishing narratives about ancient worlds, I look forward to collaborating with you.
