I have an old HTC-generated backup file—the typical proprietary archive HTC used to create when you ran its built-in backup tool. The file itself is no longer on the phone; all I have now is a download link. I need someone who can guide me through pulling that file down, opening or decrypting it if necessary, and extracting only two things: my contacts and my text messages.
I’d like the final deliverables in easy-to-import formats (VCF/CSV for contacts and XML/TXT for messages) along with a short note on the exact steps or tools you used so I can repeat the process if ever needed.
If you have hands-on experience with HTC backup files, Android SDK tools, or third-party utilities such as Titanium Backup converters, this should be a straightforward task.
