We are looking for an experienced **fibre laser service/application engineer** to help diagnose and optimise a 6kW fibre laser cutting machine.

The machine cuts, but we are struggling to achieve consistently clean cut quality, particularly on **5 mm mild steel using compressed air**.

Current problems include:

* Excessive dross/burr on the cut
* Burning/black marks, particularly around corners
* Piercing/cut-start quality issues
* Difficulty obtaining a clean, smooth edge despite adjusting speed, power and focus
* Unusual focus behaviour: approximately **-8 focus can give significantly less burning/dross than settings around -2**, and we want to understand why

We do **not know whether the underlying problem is cutting parameters, focus calibration, cutting-head setup, nozzle/beam alignment, gas delivery, optics, machine calibration or another issue**.

We need someone who can work with us remotely. We can provide photos/videos of cuts, parameter screenshots and carry out test cuts following your instructions.

The goal is to:

1. Diagnose the actual cause of the poor cut quality
2. Check whether the machine/head/focus is correctly calibrated
3. Develop reliable parameters for clean cutting
4. Teach us a systematic method for tuning other thicknesses/materials

We are specifically looking for somebody with **hands-on experience commissioning, servicing or developing cutting parameters on industrial fibre lasers**, ideally 3–12kW machines.

When applying, please briefly explain your experience with fibre laser troubleshooting and what machines, cutting heads and controllers you have worked with.
