I’m putting together a physical teaching aid that highlights the transsphenoidal corridor, and I need a skilled anatomical modeller to build a clean, 3D-print-ready human skull. The finished file will be printed on a filament printer, so clean, manifold geometry and sensible overhangs are essential. Once printed, students must be able to peer straight into the sphenoid sinus and clearly identify the sella turcica; those two landmarks are the visual focus of the model.
Key anatomical and fabrication specs
• Overall bounding box: 5 × 5 × 5 inches
• Intact external nose with two 15 mm-diameter nasal passages and a central septum
• Frontal bone, sphenoid bone with bilateral greater wings, and a well-shaped sella turcica
• Hollow sphenoid sinus (≈1 mm wall in sphenoid/sellar region)
• Posterior cranial vault open; parietal bones removed; omit pterygoid processes
• One continuous watertight mesh suitable for FDM slicing
Deliverables
1. Editable source file – Blender (.blend) is ideal, but STEP or another common CAD format also works
2. Final, validated STL ready for slicing
Please model from my reference images and full spec (supplied on award), keep the walls even, and preserve anatomical accuracy. If you’ve sculpted medical pieces before—especially skulls—let me see them, and feel free to flag any geometry decisions that may improve printability or teaching value.
