World-Building Artistry for Fantasy/Historical Site

I am looking for art to put on a web site that is a "historical" world-building creative project. Think about a fantasy book having a setting, the "world" it is a part of. That world has a history of peoples, animals, and plants. The website is sorta like a history wikipedia with a graphical interface (maps and a time slider) of that world.

This is almost a sci-fi project in that this world runs on normal physical rules (with some exceptions for the "magic") and the species depicted have an evolutionary back story. We are trying to avoid the typical fantasy tropes of what fantasy species might look like, and re-imagine species based upon the environment they evolved in. We have some ideas already about some features of some species, but there is still a lot of open ground to think about what a species might look like under certain evolutionary constraints - hence, it is sort of a sci-fi project. That said, many species have at least some rough cognate from the traditional tolkien-esque genre, we just are trying to re-imagine them.

So the project would include at least a dozen or two renderings to get a sample of the main new species of this world, but could include many more. The level of detail and style are also still TBD; simple black and white sketches might suffice, but more detailed full color depictions are certainly a possibility.

The project so far is about 5 years in with thousands of pages of content and many hundreds of maps/layers. It will take a few more years so this is not a rush job in any way with lots of time and flexibility.
