i have retired and no longer have access to my work email which i have been using but has now been blocked. Would like to set up new personal outlook account. The original mailbox itself sits on a company-managed mail server, not Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, so the job involves adjusting server or client settings rather than simply flipping a switch inside either platform.
Here’s what I want to walk away with:
• new outlook address
• A fresh Outlook account created (or an existing one cleaned up) and connected to the same corporate mailbox, with calendar fully operational and ready for meeting invites.
• Clear, written steps I can refer to later if I have to re-enter passwords, renew app-specific tokens, or migrate to another device.
I have admin access to my own mailbox but not to the company mail server itself, so any server-side rule changes will need to stay within user-level permissions—POP/IMAP enablement, forwarding rules, or similar. Please confirm the exact information you’ll need from me (server names, ports, security settings, MFA tokens, etc.) and outline how you plan to keep the transition seamless: no lost messages, no duplicate calendar events.
Ideally, we jump on a quick screen-share session while you do the heavy lifting in Outlook desktop or Outlook 365 web, tweak Gmail’s POP/IMAP or forwarding panel, and then run a few test messages and calendar invites to prove everything lands where it should. Once we’ve verified mail flow and calendar sync, we’re done.
