**PROJECT TITLE**
WordPress Backend Developer for Airport Booking Platform – Flights & Parking
**PROJECT DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for an experienced WordPress Backend Developer to build the backend of an airport booking platform covering both flight ticket booking and airport parking.
This is **Phase 1 – Backend/API only**. No theme, front-end design, Elementor, WPBakery, or ready-made travel theme is required. The website and mobile app will be developed in Phase 2 on top of the API created in this phase.
### 1. FLIGHT TICKET BOOKING
The flight module must include:
* Integration with one flight API such as Amadeus, Duffel, or Travelpayouts
* One-way, round-trip, and multi-city flight search
* Cabin class selection
* Passenger types
* Admin markup rules using percentage or flat amounts
* Markup rules by route, airline, and cabin class
* Passenger and passport information
* Flight booking
* PNR storage
* Cancellation and refund handling
The developer should clearly explain which flight API they recommend and why.
### 2. AIRPORT PARKING
The parking module must include:
* Airports
* Terminals
* Parking lots
* Parking capacity management
* Real-time availability based on overlapping date/time ranges
* Daily and hourly pricing
* Peak-period surcharges
* Long-stay discounts
* Parking reservations
* Booking amendments with automatic price difference calculation
* Cancellation policies
* Check-in and check-out management
Availability must be calculated using overlapping booking date/time ranges rather than a simple per-day counter.
### 3. SHARED PLATFORM FEATURES
The backend should also include:
* Customer accounts
* Guest bookings
* Booking history
* Stripe integration
* PayPal integration
* Payment webhooks
* Full and partial refunds
* Multi-currency support
* Coupons
* Email templates
* PDF flight e-tickets
* PDF parking vouchers
* Admin dashboard
* Booking management
* Revenue reporting
* Parking occupancy reporting
* API logs
* User roles including Admin, Manager, Support Agent, Parking Staff, and Customer
### 4. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
The solution must be developed as a **custom WordPress plugin**.
Requirements:
* PHP 8.1+
* WordPress Coding Standards
* Custom database tables
* Proper database indexes
* Versioned REST API using `/wp-json/airport/v1/`
* Postman collection or OpenAPI documentation
* Source code committed directly to our Git repository
* Commit-by-commit development
* Staging server for testing
* Sandbox API/payment mode first
* Production API credentials only after successful sandbox testing
* 30 days of free bug fixing after delivery
No Elementor, WPBakery, or ready-made travel theme should be used.
