WooCommerce B2B catalog website in request-a-quote mode for a tractor spare parts export business.

Our catalog will grow past 25,000 SKUs with 1-3 images each. What hosting tier and what search/filter stack would you use, how would you attach images to products in bulk by filename, and why does default WooCommerce product search break at that scale?

TracSpare is an India-based exporter of agricultural tractor and engine spare parts (Massey Ferguson 200/300 series, Perkins engines) selling B2B to buyers in East Africa and the Gulf.
WHAT WE NEED
A WooCommerce site running in catalog / request-a-quote mode. No online payments, no checkout. Buyers browse parts, build an enquiry list, and submit a quote request. We reply with pricing within 24 hours.
We will provide a fully working custom-coded reference website that demonstrates every required behaviour. Where our written spec is unclear, the reference site is the specification. You are not designing from scratch, you are rebuilding proven behaviour on WordPress.
SCALE MATTERS. We launch with about 1,000 products and grow past 25,000 SKUs. Do not bid if you have only built small catalogs.
CORE SCOPE
- ~1,000 products at launch imported from our CSV, each with its own page and URL
- Fields: part number (SKU/MPN), name, category, brand, compatible model, engine/serial range, condition, MOQ, unit, INR price, USD price, HS code, image filename
- Part numbers must import and store AS TEXT. No scientific notation, no stripped leading zeros. We will test this explicitly.
- Search must distinguish near-identical part numbers that differ by one digit
- Unpriced parts show "Price on Application" and stay quotable. No zero price or "Free" anywhere on the site.
- Dual currency display, USD and INR
- Product images are named by part number and must be attached AUTOMATICALLY during the CSV import by filename matching. Manual one-by-one uploading is not acceptable at our scale.
- Multiple images per part must produce a gallery. Parts without an image show a branded placeholder, never a broken icon.
- Auto-generated alt text containing the part number. WebP conversion, 1200px cap, lazy loading.
- Quote cart replacing checkout, respecting per-product MOQ, persisting across sessions
- Each enquiry generates a reference number in format TS-YYMMDD-N, delivered by email AND a pre-filled WhatsApp deep link AND stored in WP admin, with the same reference in all three
- Enquiry form captures tractor serial number and engine block number
- A repeatable import profile covering product data and images together, which we can run ourselves from wp-admin. Updating prices must never require a developer.
- schema.org Product data passing Google Rich Results Test, meta titles with part numbers, XML sitemap, Search Console setup
- 70+ mobile PageSpeed on product and category pages
OUT OF SCOPE, do not quote for these: payment gateways, buyer login accounts, multi-language, logo design, product photography or image editing.

Hosting, domain, Search Console and all plugin licences are registered in OUR accounts and paid from our card. You receive collaborator access, not ownership. All admin credentials, full code and a database export are handed over at completion.

HOW WE WILL SELECT, stated openly so nobody wastes time
1. Bids that do not answer the question above are declined without reply.
2. Shortlisted candidates have a 15-minute video call with camera on. We will ask about your past projects in detail and ask to see the wp-admin of a site you built, by screen share. We want to speak to the person who will write the code. If that is not you, do not bid.
3. Two finalists are offered a PAID TRIAL TASK of Rs 5,000 on your own staging environment: WooCommerce in quote mode, a 50-row CSV import with a folder of images named by part number, one category page, one product page, quote cart, and a WhatsApp deep link carrying a reference number. About 5-7 hours, 72-hour deadline, paid on delivery regardless of outcome. We then test it on our own phone. The full project is awarded from the trial result, not from the proposal.
