I'm looking for an experienced website designer to build, visually impressive, and easy-to-navigate personal skateboarding website.

Main Goals
1. Make the homepage the main attraction.
I want visitors to immediately notice a large, eye-catching banner showing images.

Include a small online shop.

I'm leaning toward WordPress. I'm familiar enough with WordPress to make basic changes, and I want to be able to update the site myself without depending on a developer for every small adjustment.
