I need a meticulous manual tester to run through every functional path of my web application, with special emphasis on the user login and registration flow. Your job is to behave like a real user, uncover anything that can go wrong, and hand back clear, reproducible bug reports.
Scope
• The product is a web application.
• I care first and foremost about functionality; usability and performance rounds can wait until a later phase.
• Critical paths to cover include account creation, email or password validation, social sign-in (where available), session handling, and edge-case behaviours such as duplicate usernames or expired tokens.
What I expect from you
• A concise test plan outlining the scenarios you will execute before you begin.
• Hands-on, manual execution across at least two modern desktop browsers plus one mobile viewport.
• A defect log that lists the issue, exact steps, environment, expected vs. actual result, severity, and a supporting screenshot or video.
• A short summary at the end describing overall stability and any quick-win recommendations.
Tools
Please use whatever browser-dev add-ons, screen-capture utilities, or issue trackers you are comfortable with—Chrome DevTools, Firefox, Edge, JIRA, Excel, or similar are all fine as long as the output is tidy and actionable.
Acceptance criteria
• All high-severity defects in the login/registration module are documented.
• At least 90% of the functional test scenarios outlined in your plan are executed with evidence attached.
• Final report is delivered in a shareable format (PDF, DOCX, or Google Sheet) within the agreed timeline.
If you enjoy detailed exploratory testing and have a knack for breaking things before real users do, I look forward to your proposal.
