Vocal Recording Project: Solo English Songs (US-based singers)

We’re collecting solo vocal recordings for an AI and machine-learning audio dataset. We’re looking for skilled singers to record at least an hour (around 20 songs) of English songs. This is one part of a larger multi-singer project.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 18+ based in the United States (excluding Illinois)
- proven vocal skill (professional or semi-professional experience, competitions, or coaching)
- comfortable recording in English, with a quiet home or studio setup
- not recording union-covered work (SAG-AFTRA, AFM)

SONGS
- only copyright-free material: public-domain songs, your own original songs (with a signed rights assignment), or CC0 works. No covers or commercial songs.
- every song and its rights documentation must be approved by the client before you record.

RECORDING REQUIREMENTS
- solo voice only: no harmonies, backing audible in the vocal file, or room bleed
- mono, 48 kHz, 24-bit WAV, raw and unprocessed (no EQ, compression, pitch correction, normalization or noise reduction), peaks no higher than −1.0 dBFS
- a reference track (backing or guide) that is sample-aligned with your vocal, and either newly produced or CC0

DELIVERABLES FOR EACH SONG
- Vocal WAV
- Reference-track WAV
- Plain-text lyrics, verbatim as sung, with section tags (e.g., [Verse 1], [Chorus])
- Metadata record

You’ll also provide a short singer profile, a song-rights list, and a signed consent form and AI-use acknowledgement before recording.

PROCESS
- Submit your profile and proposed song list for approval.
- Record and submit one sample song for review.
- After approval, record and deliver the remaining songs.
- Any file that fails QC must be corrected and resubmitted.

PAY RATE
Payment is based on active singing time (at least an hour) and the pay rate is $250 per approved hour. Files that fail QC aren’t paid until corrected.
