I want to bring a new, video social networking experience to life on both iOS and Android. The core of the product is simple: users sign up through their existing social media accounts, record or upload short videos, share them to a public or friends-only feed, go live straight from their phones, and chat instantly with each other inside the app.
Key features to build
• Seamless social-media login (Facebook, Google, Apple, etc.)
• Video upload with automatic compression and cloud storage
• Live streaming with real-time comments and viewer counts
• In-app messaging that supports text, emojis, and video links
• Push notifications for follows, likes, messages, and live events
• Profile pages, follow system, and discover feed
Tech expectations
A single codebase—Flutter, React Native, or another robust cross-platform stack—will keep future maintenance practical while giving native-level performance for video handling. The backend should be scalable (Node.js, Firebase, or similar), prepared for adaptive bitrate streaming (HLS) and chat in real time (WebSockets). Clean, well-documented code and a hand-off package that my team can extend later are essential.
Acceptance criteria
1. Both App Store and Google Play builds ready for submission.
2. All listed features tested on current OS versions and major device sizes.
3. Source code, environment setup guide, and API documentation delivered.
