# Video Editor Portfolio Website — Framer Template Customization
### IMPORTANT — TIMELINE & NEXT STEP
Before going through the full brief, I want to clarify the timeline.
I would like to have a **quick Google Meet with you first** so we can discuss the project, go through the requirements, and make sure everything is aligned.
If everything looks good after the call, **I can book the order with you around mid-October**.
The reason for this is that I need some time to **craft and finalize my video projects** that I will be putting into my portfolio. Once those are ready, I can provide you with all the content, videos, and references needed for the website.
So for now, I mainly want to make sure that **you are comfortable with the Reelhaus template and the overall scope**, and then we can move forward with the order in October.

Video Editor Portfolio Website — Framer Template Customization
I need a Framer portfolio website for my video editing work, but this is NOT a website being built from scratch.
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ
I already have the Reelhaus Framer template, and I specifically want to use this exact template as the base:
Template: https://www.framer.com/community/marketplace/templates/reelhaus/
The main work is to modify and customize the existing template, not design and develop an entirely new website.
This means:
Removing existing elements/sections that I don't need
Replacing existing elements with my content
Adding new sections/elements that are required
Adding functionality that isn't currently in the template
Recreating/adapting certain elements based on references that I will provide
Setting up the CMS properly
Making the website fully responsive across Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, and Mobile
Optimizing the website for speed and performance — this is non-negotiable for me
Ensuring the video implementation doesn't unnecessarily slow down the website
Adding some polished animations/interactions
1. Homepage Navigation
The current Reelhaus navigation will be modified.
Remove:
Existing brand/logo
New navigation:
Work | About | Showreel | Let's Talk
For symmetry:
Left: Work + About
Right: Showreel + Let's Talk
2. Navigation Behavior
Work, About, Let's Talk → smooth scroll to their respective sections without changing the URL.
Showreel → smoothly scroll to the Showreel section and update the URL to /showreel with no #hash.
If someone directly opens website.com/showreel in a fresh browser, the website should automatically load and take them directly to the Showreel section.
3. Full Responsiveness
The website needs to work properly across:
Desktop
Laptop
Tablet
Mobile
The current Reelhaus template has Desktop, Tablet and Mobile breakpoints.
I want a dedicated Laptop breakpoint added as well so the layout is properly optimized for laptop-sized screens.
There should be no broken layouts, overlapping elements, or awkward spacing across different screen sizes.
4. Speed & Performance — NON-NEGOTIABLE
Website speed is extremely important to me and this requirement cannot be compromised.
The final website should load quickly and remain smooth and responsive across Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, and Mobile.
Since this is a video portfolio, I especially want the video implementation optimized so that having multiple projects/videos does not unnecessarily increase the initial loading time or cause lag.
Please prioritize performance when implementing:
Videos
Images
Animations
Interactions
CMS
Custom functionality
The goal is not just to make the website look good — it needs to feel fast and smooth as well.
5. Video Handling
I will be adding multiple video projects to the portfolio.
I do not want all videos autoplaying when the website loads.
I want each video to have a thumbnail/preview, and the video should play when the visitor interacts with it.
Please recommend the best implementation between click-to-play or another performance-friendly approach based on what works best in Framer.
The priority is:
Good visual experience + fast loading + smooth performance.
6. CMS Setup
The portfolio needs to be connected to Framer CMS properly.
I want to be able to:
Add new projects
Edit existing projects
Remove projects
Update project information
Add/change video content
without having to manually edit the website layout every time.
The CMS should be structured properly so I can manage my portfolio myself in the future.
7. Removing Existing Elements + Adding New Elements
This is important because I don't want the template to simply be left as it is.
Since Reelhaus is only being used as the base, some of its existing sections/elements will need to be removed or replaced.
There will also be some things that are not currently present in the Reelhaus template that I want added.
For those, I will provide references/examples, and I want you to recreate or adapt those elements into the existing Reelhaus design while keeping everything visually consistent.
So the work is basically:
Existing template → remove unnecessary things → modify existing things → add required new things → customize with my content/references.
Animations & Interactions
I would also like to include some polished, minimal animations and interactions according to my references.
Nothing unnecessarily complex.
I mainly want smooth, clean and intentional interactions that make the portfolio feel premium and engaging.
We can discuss the exact animations and references once the order is placed.
Important Scope Clarification
Again, this is NOT a from-scratch website project.
I already have the Reelhaus template and want you to work directly on that existing template.
I'm not asking you to design a completely new website from zero.
The job is primarily:
Template customization + removals + modifications + adding new elements from my references + functionality + CMS + responsiveness + speed/performance + video optimization + animations.
I will provide the content, videos, and references needed for the customization.
Budget
$30–$40 maximum.
I'm specifically looking for someone who is comfortable taking an existing Framer template and customizing it rather than building a completely new website.
Please review the Reelhaus template before accepting the project and make sure you are comfortable working directly with it.
